Dome C
This site deep in Antarctica is used by CNRS, France, in conjunction with the observatory on Adélie Land.
Dome C is at an altitude of 3,233 m or 10,607 ft above sea level, is one of several summits or “domes” of the Antarctic Ice Sheet. It was called Dome C by the US Naval Support Office in the 1070s. It is now the site of the Concordia Research Station, jointly operated by France and Italy.
